JENN'S YEAR IN REVIEW...2002

maaan...what a FckN year?! never have i cried soo much...been hurt soo much...GROWN soo much! i went through soo much drama this year..with guy(s) especially...lost some friendships too..thats the sucky part...funny how things end up...just goes to show how much things can change over the years and even in a couple months...2002...senior year...lots of stuff goin on. graduation...prom...grad nite...wow...and finally COLLEGE. ive also had a lot of firsts...i had my first taste of things that i always told myself i would never do...i guess thats why they have the saying.."never say never." but yea..sometimes you just gotta let loose and have fun, you can't work all day and have no play!...i've learned that things don't come easy in life and that they will only get worse in order to get better...i'll admit i made a couple of mistakes this year...but definetly NO REGRETS. my friend once told me that you can't regret the past cause its already over and done with...so use it to make for a better future. we learn from our mistakes. even if it takes us 10 thousand retakes...in the end, somehow, we learn it. sometimes what you think is right...isn't...we just get too caught up in thinking it's what we want and what's right that we tend to block out the MAJOR reasons for it being WRONG. we can't go on in life making room for the good because the bad is taking up soo much space...a big thing i learned this year is who my REAL friends are...and letting go...it takes a lot for someone to let go...but one things for sure..in the end, it makes things clearer...and you learn that it really was worth hurting because it only makes you stronger as a person...of course no one wants to hurt...but we can't be afraid of it..its a part of life...and so is change...holding on to the past...something that's no longer there only weakens us. moving on and being able to take risks in life is something we should all take advantage of...live life to the fullest, dont dwell over something that isnt worth it. there's bigger and better things out there for everyone! but that doesnt mean to say that we should forget people who have affected us...nothing can ever change the past..but we have to forgive and forget...and if you cant do that, then you have nothing and you'll be stuck forever...living life on your own isnt so bad..i learned all of this and more this year..college and being away from home really has made me realize the value of family and san diego..but i'm glad i moved away...gave a chance to start over in life..i think college does that to everyone in general...i'm happy now...and i'm glad for everything that was given to me this year...good and bad cause either way, i am a STRONGER person.

highlight of the year....graduation...the week and and weekend of...i've never been soo happy and felt soo accomplished..so many good times with family and friends! going up on stage...getting that diploma...maaan, hearing my family in the stands honk the horns and chant my name...carrying big ass posters...that felt hella great! it felt good to end high school and move on...ahh yes...can't wait til college graduation! 3 more years baaby! ;p in the meantime, i'm enjoying the college life at berkeley!

biggest lesson(s) learned in life...forgive and forget...it's the only way to move on...LOVE ISN'T SUPPOSE TO HURT if youre with the right person..things happen for a reason...maybe the person you're looking for is the one who's been with you all along, they know you best..timing is everything! don't be afraid of change...you can't always runaway and take the easy way out...

biggest lesson(s) learned in college...college is one tough mofo! but you can't base your experience on that of others...we all work at our own pace...as long as you know you tried your best..thats all that matters...just take every bad midterm/final and use it to work harder for the next...perseverence! it's all about prioritizing in college...you can't depend on anyone but yourself..straight up!

it's a new year everyone...time to start fresh...new beginnings, new challenges, new life! but its up to you to live it up...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
