a conversation with my dad about vegas....

mind you my dads fobby, stern, fatherly voice:

j: hey dad, im going to vegas. ok? cool thanks!
d: wait a minute, why are you going?
j: to celebrate.
d: why?
j: b/c we're all 21
d: how are you going to celebrate?
j: ya know...hang around. see the lights. stuff like that.
dad gives "the look"

another night....
d: so how long are you goint to be in Bay-gas?
j: 12th-14th, we're leaving the 14th
d: who's going?
j: madel, jely, angelo...
d: who else?
j: norwin, tricia, val...
d: who else?
j: a bunch of people you dont know. there's a list of us somewhere.
d: well give me the list
j: why? its just names of people you dont know
d: theres one name in particular im looking for.
j: who?! roel?!
d: yea, is he going?
j: yea but i dont talk to him anymore
d: you know, its no good to be serious now with boys. some boys are only after one thing. i dont want them hurting you or whatever and then you cant focus on school. all im saying is, be safe, be safe, be safe.
j: i know i know
d: what happens in vegas, stays in vegas...NO! i dont believe that because believe me, i will find out.

d: so what kind of drinks do you drink?
j: daquiries, margaritas...bacardi, vodka, belevedere, stuff like that
d: dont get drunk. once youre drunk your decisions are not correct. you will do whatever and you will black out. someone will take advantage of you.

another night my dad sits me down in a chair in front of him and reads every single purchase on my credit card bill while i sit laughing my ass off:

d: look at this, forever 21: $30, H&M $80, walgreens $8, safeway $50, H&M, walgreens, walgreens, Dave and Busters: $20 in milipitas! where's milipitas?!
j: near berkeley, for my friends birthday
d: walgreens, wet seal, rubios, Kips restaurant....
j: dad! i have to eat and look good right?!
d: total: $ ______
j: hahhaha
d: my gosh, 2 pages!
